Thoughts on Directional Movements:

Move to where you will be.

The diagram at the bottom of this page, provided by our friend and fellow PSIA Certified Instructor - Granger Vinal, from Sunrise Park Resort, Arizona, is intended to illustrate that directional movements are done purposefully in order to achieve an outcome which is also affected by speed, snow surface and turn radius.

What we like about this image is its depiction of continual forward movement creating momentum at all points throughout the turn.  This translates into the skis ability to re-direct through all phases of the turn. As opposed to, simply redirecting the ski at the heaviest phase of the turn when body weight helps bend the ski.
